THE WORD OF GOD IS .
INSPIRED BY GOD
The Message Translation of 2 Timothy 3:16 says this:
“There’s nothing like the written Word of God for showing you the way to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful in one way or another—showing us the truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, and training us to live God’s way. Through the Word, we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us.”
So what does this mean? The Bible is a guide for us to grow deeper in our understanding of Jesus. It is our source of truth, our thermostat in times of need, a “how-to” on the ways of life, and the firm foundation God intends us to build our lives.

MOVED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT
History proves to us that many great men and women are capable of writing amazing stories. The Bible, however, is God-breathed and reveals the nature and divine plan for all of humankind. Although the salvation story is our story to join in, God also purposefully ordained faithful men to write down passages and messages under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. In the production of Scripture, both God and man were active participants. God was the source of the content of Scripture, so what the Bible says is an accurate reflection of His words. Although actively speaking, the human author was more than a recorder—he was also intricately led by the Holy Spirit in the writing of scripture.
2 Peter 1:20-21: “But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.”

INHABITED BY GOD
World religions teach that many gods or deities lived a short life during their time of reign, but eventually died and passed away, leaving only ancient stories, traditions, and rituals to their name. This is not the case with God. Not only do we know that the word of God is inhabited by God, but we know it is alive and active in our everyday living (Hebrews 4:12).
From the very beginning, God has made himself known to His people by His revealed word. God spoke the world into existence and then spoke relationally and closely to Adam (Genesis 1:27-30). In Exodus 3, God spoke through a burning bush to Moses, calling him to liberate Israel from Egypt. God taught His people how to worship through the words of the psalmists; recorded the hope of the world through the word of the prophets; and gave his greatest revelation to Jesus, his Son (Hebrews 1:1-3).
